Jane Haranin has come a long way since leaving the 3,000-acre sheep farm in Australia where she grew up. After stints as a cruise director and an English teacher in Japan, today, Jane is the Epic Settlement Processing Manager.
“At age 17 I went on an exchange program to Japan,” said Jane. “When I returned to Australia, I studied at Flinders University and then obtained my post-grad at James Cook University.”
After school, Jane began her career as a Cruise Director on a boat called the Proud Mary. For three years she cruised the Murry River.
She then decided to return to Japan to teach English.
“I lived and taught English in Aomori for two years and that’s where I met my husband who is from Bellefonte, PA,” she explained.
Jane worked in several industries once she moved to the United States. She became a Realtor and that’s how she met Lisa Peters Brown, Owner/President of Epic Settlement.
“When I was a Realtor many of my clients would choose Lisa to perform their closings. The professionalism provided by Epic at closings was consistent and reliable. She always knew how to make my clients feel relaxed,” Jane said.
In 2014 Lisa recruited Jane to come and work for her and she’s been with Epic Settlement ever since. As the Processing Manager, she considers herself the hub where all pertinent information is gathered and organized for closing day.
“Every file is unique and there is no room for complacency,” she notes. “Seeing happy clients achieve their dreams with a new home or an awesome refi rate is really satisfying.”
Jane is currently working on earning her title insurance license which will give her a deeper understanding of the industry. When asked what her advice is to anyone considering title as a career she said, "Make sure you enjoy a challenge!"
Jane lives with her husband and their daughter. They have three cats and a horse named Tully.
